Just lit a bunch of RO lump. Who needs fireworks on the fourth or New Years. Enough sparks from the charcoal to light up the place. Checked bag and saw no indication that it was imported from South America or anywhere else. I wonder what causes that. Like RO better than Cowboy, but, that is weird.

American made should say so. Mine always has.

Moisture content in the lump..if you're using a torch to light, move the flame further away from the lump.

This bag says it was made in the USA. It was just sparky.

I just had my best bag of RO ever. Very little spark, and each chunk of lump averaged 3 inched by 7 inches. Sad to see it go.

Did somebody say sparky?

Where did you buy it? Reason I ask is this fall I bought 12 bags of Royal Oak at Wally World.
Unlike other bags they had no country of origin, but to date I've had no issue with it. I have steadfastly avoided that marked from foreign countries after buying some sparky RO crap from Argentina. Here is my concern...WM has a reputation of muscling vendors and if WM didn't want the country of origin printed then RO won't and besides if it was in fact wood from the USA why wouldn't that have been printed? Get my drift?Re-gasketing America one yard at a time. -

I have only been using RO since the summer and have not experienced any problems. However mine has been made in the US.
I will also be in Vero the end of next week for a few days and then later in the month so wondering do you have any great resterants that you would recommend.
Thanks -
My last bag of Royal Oak Steakhouse lump, labeled a USA product contained charred building insulation and a pretty good size rock. This was a first, as it has always been good stuff before.

I bought it at WalMart as well. It says made in the USA. I bought 20 bags when it was being cleared out for Christmas decorations.
