To Brine or Not to Brine, that is the question

Despite having brined my last several turkeys I am about ready to try the next one without it. Despite varying the amount of salt and duration the additional salt is still apparent to my taste buds. I have even considered spatchcocking the turkey this time. Has anyone tried this with a big bird? thanks

Spatchcock turkey is good and just as easy to do a chicken.
The brine question is a matter of personal taste. IF you get a turkey that is not "enhanced" then it won't hurt. I've been brining for years, not just because of the turkey results (which are really negligible), but because of the way it improves the gravy. -
Never brined a turkey in my life.
Never actually spatchcocked any poultry, though many have with great results -
I don't know what spatchcocked is exactly. But I am pretty darn sure you shouldn't be doing it to a bird...A Hooker maybe but not a bird....HAHAHAHAH What is spatchcocked?
