My 5qt. crock pot makes a jiffy bbq bean pot for the egg. Started from scratch with dried Navy beans and a double smoked pork shank to make(heavy on the pork)bbq beans.
I can't help but visualize a Big Green Egg logo on the side.

Thanks.
300* for 3 hours. I first soaked the beans overnight then pre-cooked by simmering in fresh water for about an hour just until el-dente. Out on the egg I smoked a smoked pork shank then de-boned the meat for the bbq bean pot. Yummmmmmmm. -
Just the perfect colour combination......can just imagine those beans with bacon.......sausage.....garlic.....& cilantro...... just dreaming

Looking good as usual. You just might have to give that idea to the mother ship as a new add on accessory.

Gotta believe there was a martini or two in the mix. -RP

Well, indirectly. The cook (chef ClayQ) gets a little dry workin over a hot egg...if ya know what I mean, stirring the pot and all.
Weather here is cooling down, 50's today, now is a good time for bbq beans, chili and stews. Grilled up some butter nut squash the other day on the new egg, ooooo that's good stuff. I wanna make some apple crisp soon but first I gotta go apple pickin. -
It was a real pleasure meeting you and your wife, was glad to be the first to surface your face here on the forum. We will meet again. -RP

Such a great idea!!! Too bad mine's brown (not green). Hopefully it won't have too much of an effect on the flavor of the beans though.

They look and sound awesome! Also, looks like the insert in my crock pot. Where did you get the feet?
