Well it has been a rough out this way for a while. But so far so good.
My youngest daughter and her husband just had their first child. Brayden is Grandpas Grub youngest egger.
Problems had been going on and the doctors decided to take the baby 7 weeks early. Plus the baby is 3 weeks behind in weight.
He is here but not very happy as you can see below. The docs say we have some challenging times ahead but baby is developed enough that at this point if he gains weight and continues to develop in ICU all should be well. We will be on pins and needles for a while.
I think he needs a new gasket...

He's beautiful! My youngest son Rory was born premature and when they let me in to see him, he had so many wires and tubes, he looked like a tiny little stereo system. But it was what he needed, and he's doing great today. Blessings on you all and congrats!!!
-
Congratulations Kent- all my best to you and your family. He has a great head of hair!

Congratulations on that beautiful bundle of boy! Here's hoping he takes everyone by surprise with a rapid growth spurt. He certainly has a healthy color in that first picture.

Hang in there Kent, my twins were born at 6 months, weighed 1.5 and 1.75 lbs. That was thirty five years ago, they have made great strides in premie medicine since then. My two are now pumping out grandkids. -RP

well, you got me there. . .but i'm still trying to figure out how a woman as young as kim is could have 35 year old twins. ...maybe your just bad at countin!!. ...of course, with 5 daughters to tell you how dumb you are, that can't be possible (just scroll down and you can see where my 1 daughter was reminding me how stupid i am) . . LOL . . .

Heartfelt congrats to you and yours Kent.
Best wishes for Brayden and his parents. -
My twins were from my first marriage which I had 3 girls. Collectively, they have supplied me with 6 grand children. -RP

Congratulations GG ! Both of my boys were premature 7 and 9 weeks. You would never know it now. I know how scary it can be, but Neonatal Medicine has come a long way. My prayers are with you and your family.

Way to go Max, now you ruined the whole thing. It was getting pretty interesting when I thought it was just Randy & Kim.
Shucks...
Thanks you guys, we are all feeling pretty blessed.

Oh crap... wrong place.

I want to thank each of you for your comments, thoughts and prayers. It means a lot to our family.
Mom hasn't been able to see the baby yet as she was having carrying the baby. So you all can imagine how that program is going.
Anyway, it sounds like mom is just fine and right now the baby is in excellent hands.
I was out egging in the rain two days ago and now have a cough quickly turning into a cold. Therefore, I am banned from going within 1 mile of the hospital and grandma has to wash, gown and mask even to see our daughter. Doc's said the baby will in ICU for a week to 10 days then with mom. Depending how things go we should meet the little fart in 15 days or so.
Each time we get a new grandchild it sure turns the years back for Shelagh and I. What a miracle.
If the weather holds out the younger grand kids 8 of em and grandpa are having the world champion potato but races and grasshopper long jump contests.
Our best wishes and prayers are still out for the Ike folks. Hope all is well - it sure will be nice to see a few more posts.
Again thanks, Kent -
congrats on the little guy. he looks like a fighter. i'd scream too if i were hooked up to that stuff.
we have friends that had a baby at something like 30 weeks. they had a heckuva time, but that boy is home now, and doing fine.
here's wishing in a short time you'll be bouncing him on your knee.
all the best, GG.
