Thanks to everybody for the advice the other day. Here is my attempt at round # 2. Check out that almost virgin grill.
Oh, and I took the advice that everyone likes pics. So here it goes.
Brazilian Beer Chicken
2 cups beer(Xingu Black Beer from Brazil)
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup Dijon Mustard
1 tablespoon smokey paprika
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 medium onion thinly sliced
12 cloves garlic thinly sliced
2 bay leaves
1 chicken halved
Coarse (kosher or sea) salt
Marinate for 24 hours or more
I used hickory chips for smoke and cooked at 350 degree F skin side down for 20 minutes, flipped and cooked for another 30 minutes.
Now, this one was good. I let my charcoal burn for about 30 minutes before putting the meat on this time and the taste was great if I say so myself.

Great job on the cook and a nice set of pic's.
The way your cookin won't be long before ya get a nice dark color going inside the spankin clean egg. :P
I see you're puttin the gasser to good use... and it makes a great egg tool/accessory storage facility.
Have a great weekend! -

The first thing my wife said when we put the BGE together, was that gas grill has got to go.  I think she's right.
