Can you do 2 or 3 za's at once on that rig?
-
Do you not cook on the stone?
Greg -
Bacchus, you can squeeze a couple pies on each grid. I just make sure to use the 19 inch stone for indirect heat and rotate the pies once in a while.
It's fun to watch people's faces when you unload all the food from the BGE. It's brought my outdoor cooking to another level and it's fun too!

Looks great Mitch!

East Cobb, instead of the stone I use Airbake Pizza Pans. I usually cook more than one pizza and they come out crisp and nice on those pans.

Is this the pizza pan?
Greg -
Greg, I think I saw that one at Target. Mine was a cheapy from Lowe's.
I think your's might be an upgrade! :woohoo:

Don't have it, yet.
However, I might consider it.
Greg -
We are a BGE newbees and love pizzas. Can you break down how you set up the egg to cook the pizzas? We usually cook two pizzas at once and do often use a pizza stone. Often though the neighbors come over and its more. Our email is roynzoe@comcast.net, if it is easier for you to email us.

Make sure you have a plate setter placed in the EGG with legs down.
Then put the stone on top.
Get the EGG up to 550-600.
Think of how you will transport the pizza to the stone. Personally, I prep on parchment paper and use it to move to the EGG. Make sure to keep the paper close to the edge of the pizza, as it will catch fire.
The pizza should only take about 8 to 10 mins.

Thank you!

Greg said it beautifully dunksmummy.
I use a 19 inch stone on a hanger from eggcessories with the flip ring and 21 inch grid and the 25 inch BGE grid on the lower. I heat the egg and stone up to 500 and place the pizzas in pans on to both tiers and start watching them close at 10 minutes. When the crust is brown and the cheese bubbly it's time to eat!
Let me know if you need any other info. Do you have an XL?
Mitch's Oh Yeah! -
Is that 19 inch stone done on an XL? I recently bought a stone for a 'Large' & its only 14 inches, terribly small for big piehappy in the hut

Zippylip,
if you go to http://www.eggaccessories.com/xl.html
you will see the setup I have. Go to the bottom of the page to get the stone info and where to go to order them from Laguna Clay.
