John Henry's Rubs
Options
I've never used John Henry's rubs before, but noticed several of them for sale at my local green egg dealer here in Chattanooga. I've always used Bad Byron's Butt Rub for my ribs since I bought my egg, but I was thinking about trying something new for this weekend. Does anyone have any suggestions about which John Henry rub is best on ribs? Thanks!

I'm a True Believer in using John Henry's Pecan on my ribs. Smoke 'em with cherry and sauce with Sweet Baby Ray's...I can hardly wait for tomorrow's 8 slabs! :woohoo:
-
i'll take a couple of those eight slabs!
-
We'll probably have extras, but I ain't promising two whole slabs...it'll be last man standing!

I second the Pecan rub. It is very good on pork.

my favs are the pecan, the hickory, the apple, and mohave garlic pepper.
the mojave garlic pepper makes some really great chicken wings. make a simple butter sauce mix in some of the mojave garlic pepper rub and then toss in the cooked wings. really good eats. -
Sugar Maple is by far my favorite rub. Goes great with anything.

Ribs? Pecan...no questions. Lay it on thick!

I'll have to try that one next. Sounds good. I think JH got his act together.

Thanks for the help guys. I went out and got the pecan rub and the sugar maple. I'll try both this weekend to see which one I really like. I'm willing to bet that they will both be pretty good. There is a sticker on the outside of the pecan rub that says it is hot. Would yall agree with that? I love a little spice, but my wife isn't a big fan. That's why I got the sugar maple too.

i just ate wings with a ton of the pecan rub on them (the last of the bottle) and i haven't noticed any heat at all from it. -
That sticker was misplaced. There is nothing hot about the Pecan rub.
