OK...Here's the idea. The Kentucky Derby and Waldorf Eggfest happen to be on the same day. Since it's gonna be a beautiful sunny day B) , let's have a Hat day in honor of the races. Here's a shot of mine....

wouldn't you say it's appropriate for the Desert Filly?

See you there...

What a great idea! The Kentucky Derby is the reason that we've never made it to the Waldorf Eggfest. Like you said, they're always the same weekend. Living here in Louisville, home of the KY Derby, we just don't think we can miss the annual Derby parties. We now host one of our own, and also use it to celebrate the birthday of our middle child.

You should see all the variety in Derby hats here in town. They range from the beautiful to the very silly. Men and women both get into the act.

Have a great time at Waldorf, everybody! And if you really want to get into the Derby spirit, be sure to have a mint julep. (Somebody at the 2006 Eggtoberfest after-party made the best mint julep I've ever had in my life!)
