Small Lump Solution
Options
Sodak
Posts: 57
I had a problem with some small lump (Royal Oak Walmart) that was plugging up my cast iron grate holes. I had a Weber Smokey Joe that I took the charcoal grate out of and it fit in nicely. It is 1.5inches bigger diameter but has worked well so far.

Looks like it could work - I'd keep an eye on the temps though! Too hot and that thing will melt! Good luck - CP

I will give it about two weeks and that will be it.Lots of people on the forum have used a trivet from Lodge and that will not hold up and it looks like the wall thickness of the Lodge is twice as thick.

There's nothing wrong with innovation, but make sure you have your screen door on because when it gives there will hot coals trying to come out the bottom and burn anything it can. Be careful.

Always keep the screen shut because it is always windy here. I do have to remove the ash before every cook as it is full of marble-sized pieces of lump.
Temperature control is very easy.
I only plan on using it until my four bags are used up. -

It would probably kill you if you knew that I cook hot dogs in my egg. -
