There you are. Thanks buddy. It was good. Real good.
My next batch will be in a Dutch Oven on the Egg. And I will probably cook it a couple of minutes longer in order to get that thick, crunchy bottom and top. It will definitely be served in regular milk, not that 2% stuff. If I've gotta die I darn sure want to go out smiling.

Somethings must be served the way they were meant to be served. Yes I remember my Mother breaking up the two day old cornbread and covering it with milk and handing it to me.
If you didn't mange to find the Sweet Buttermilk and used that cultured stuff you really need to find the real stuff. It is an order of magnitude better.
Think I will revive that thread Max started a good while back about things that should not be substituted for. :woohoo:

Yes real milk. I gave up that 2% milk and the wife is mad but she'll live and she says now I won’t, but let’s go out the way we are supposed to (Stomach Full & Smiling). Thanks Pete

Thanks CW, I have found sweet buttermilk locally here. Will pick up some tomorrow along with fresh country butter and ice cream. I've been doing cornbread for years in my c i skillet. You just got it better for us. Thanks again Miles
