Big T, where do you hail from? Did yall get those during lobster season in the keys or out in the middle grounds? Ah..memories!
-
I live in Nashville, TN, but I keep a boat in Fort Pierce, where we got these bugs.
I also like lobstering off of WPB /Jupiter and the Dry Tortugas when I get the chance.
Never been to the Middle Grounds; would like to go someday before it get put off limits by the govt.
Big T -
Dam, you're not playing. Thats what I was looking for.
-
I wanted one on a BGE like what BigT sent. I wanted to see how it was set up for the cook.
All the links to bge search was outdated. -
You need to try the middle grounds. As I recall, the grouper and amber jack are abundant. Lobster are everywhere...large lobster. Your buddy would have been covered up completely with bugs on a good trip out there. How big is your boat? I live 40 miles SE of Atlanta. If you ever need to stop on the way down or back up let me know. BTW, did I mention that you've always been like a brother to me?Haha.
-
Seems like you have a serious bug problem. Need any help getting rid of the bugs :woohoo: Great pics

Did the cedar add any flavor to the lobsters. If so how'd it tastse. I have never used the boards. Great pictures! -
I didn't like it enough to do it again with cedar- it picked up quite a bit of smoke in 12 minutes- would try maple next time...but it is hard to top simple grilled lobster.
-
How about cooking it direct? Would you do it a 350, and about how long?
-
350 direct is fine. Lobster is so variable in size that I go by how it looks, but generally, 10 to 15 minutes seems to be the range. I also like some foil as an indirect barrier after the flip,; if grilling the second size direct w/o foil, watch that it doesn't dry out.
I would rather eat a lobster that is a little translucent in the middle than dare overcook it. -
Our New England lobsters can beat up your southern lobsters.
-
But is a tough lobster good to eat :P
-
What you call lobsters up there, are actually overgrown crawfish...not that there's anything wrong with that. :woohoo:
-
there is only two kinds of lobster, maine lobster, and imitation lobster. we call those southern things bugs
fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
Now that's a real Lobsta.
-
You know, I've only seen claws on crabs and crawfish.Haha.
-
Here's lookin' at ya!
-
Now THAT'S a real lobstah!
