Question on Dome

I notice what appears to bear some buildup on the dome. It's white in color and I gather it's just creosote that has been there for a while. It's beginning to flake off a bit. Am I correct that's what it is and should just scrape it off?

Thanks,

Tom

Crumple and aluminum foil ball and scrape it off. Be prepared for a bit of a mess. I always empty my lump before doing this - then get to work with the Shop-Vac.

I'm assuming this buildup is on the inside.
