ChiliPimp, congrats on the Egg and on being the first to use "pimp" in your handle. Strong intro. Have a blast. I got my large egg 4 years ago for Christmas. I still use it and my small egg many nights a week. Have a blast, Scott[p]PS-get a platesetter. It's made for indirect cooking and for cooking pizza. Check out Wess's site, www.nakedwhiz.com and the links therein for bottomless information.

vidalia1,
Agreed....You may want to grab a grid lifter and an ash tool if they are not included already..[p]Wess

Scotty's Inferno,[p]Not to burst anyone's bubble, but my cousin had FishPimp a while back. ;-) But she's not officially an egger, so she doesn't count....lol...

ChiliPimp,
With out the plate setter or the equivalent all you really have is a grill. The Plate setter inverted with the grill on the legs keeps the fire from directly contacting the food product. Get ready. I only burned about 5 times a year till my wife put down 500 bucks of her own bday/ Christmas cash on a medium. I said I would foot the rest. Now I burn AT LEAST 3x a week. Guys at work say thats the cheapest chef 3 times a week she can ever have!lol

ChiliPimp,[p]Welcome!!! You'll love it.[p]Congrats on the new addition to your family.
-
ChiliPimp,[p]Congratulations on the new BGE! You're going to love it. Make sure you have some lump on standby ready to go.[p]-Mike[p]

ChiliPimp,[p]Congratulations and welcome.[p]As for accessories, well the list never ends. After my first large egg my last accessory was a medium egg, now that's and accessory.[p]You need to so some cooking then decide what 'things' you need.[p]I was provided with an ash tool and plate setter when I got my large. The dealer said to use the ash tool for a grid lifter and it works well.[p]I did end up getting a grid lift from thirdeye and would recomend that over the egg grid lift. I still use the ash tool for a grid lift much of the time.[p]So as for accessories, ash tool and plate setter for now, oh yess some tinfoil. You will quickly learn what else you just have to have.[p]have fun and let us know about some of your cooks.[p]Kent

ChiliPimp,
Cost of large BGE $800 (approximate), ash tool and grid lifter $50, BBQ Guru $225, friends and food you are about to make priceless!!
Everyday is Saturday and tomorrow is always Sunday. -
ChiliPimp,
The most important thing you can do is to use this forum and get as much information as you can. Hit Control F and enter ham, chicken, charcoal, salmon, etc and you will find recipes and techniques. I bought my egg three weeks ago and without this site I would have been lost. I've cooked more things on this thing in the past three weeks than I did the past year on my gas grill. If you are looking for a specific accessory, I would go with the plate setter. It allows you to cook so many more things.
