Wow after reading the forum and asking for advice on here I finally took the plunge and picked up my 1st Egg today! I figured that I would take the wise advice of others on here and start out by trying my first cook(s) at 400 +/- to set the gasket And because I was not wanting to end up with expensive piece of charcoal I chose to cook some sausages first.....Wow was it ever good..I am now cooking shrimp and a shish-kebob and I know I am going to be happy.Controlling the temp seems to be easy so far and I know that there are thousands of eggheads here that are ready to help should problems arise. Well I am back to watch the Ceramic and quaff some ale....cheers all

chARCoal,[p]Welcome to the FRAT. I, myself being a newbie as well only have one regret...I wish I got it years ago. Can't wait until you tell us about your first over-nighter.

chARCoal,[p]Could not help but notice that you said you picked up your "1st" egg today. based on that EGGxcellent way of thinking you may as well breed the dog and sell the puppies so that you can round out the family.
    Welcome aboard!
