I take a vadila onion slice and place it in the pattie. Top with a pat of butter and my favorite rub. Cook meat side down at 350. Flip the last couple minutes to finish cooking the onion.[p]Mike

Car Wash Mike,
my egg has never seen a hamburger
-
Car Wash Mike, I frequently add chopped onion to the ground meat but have never tried the whole slice idea. What was I thinkin? Your photo looks seriously deluxe - and a much better presentation too. Have you tried putting a small chunk/slice of cheese under the onion? Thanks for the inspiration. Steve.
-
Apple,
I usually add cheese the last minute. I have tried, placing cheese inbetween 2 patties and pressing the outer edges down so the cheese doesn't escape. That is kind of hard but has worked.[p]Mike
-
TRex,
great looking hambergers, and thanks for the new sites.

Car Wash Mike, I have done the two pattie cheese inbetween thing as well and you're right, its kind of pain. So my search for the perfect burger continues - as pedestrian as it is. It remains an honorable quest. Steve.

Car Wash Mike,[p]Vidalia onions get lost on a REAL burger!!!

Car Wash Mike,[p]Very bold move, posting the infamous "onion burger"[p]Much like Ford's pardon of Nixon, I think history will look back at this picture as being posted at the right time to heal America.[p]I died laughing when I saw this. I thought you swore you deleted it.
-
Truck511,
LOL I did. Then other forum members started posting it. It was brought up a few days ago. Like I said, At the risk of being yelled at.[p]Mike

topper9,
My Egg saw a hamburger for the first time 2 weeks ago. I have had it now 4 months.
I was given some seconds on hickory planks when I got my Wicked Good Lump and the guy at the store said to cook burgers on them.
They were unbelievable. I actually did 8 very small burgers and put Dizzy Raising the Steaks on 4 and Dizzy Dust on the other 4. I used Sara Lee dinner rolls as the bun with a pickle slice to top it all off.
I am planning on repeating this meal tomorrow night. [p]-- Linnea

fonchik, first it was Hardees and its Thickburger that I gave up because of the Egg. Now you want me to give up my Krystals as well?
-
Wise One,
I was unsure if I would like the burger this way or not but I cooked them indirect (was doing 5 fatties at the same time) and OMG fabulous. I had to walk away from the food so I would have something for lunch the next day to take to work.[p]Sorry about Krystals give the planking of a burger a try.[p]-- Linnea

Rick's Tropical Delight,

i think the entire state of ohio will be eating gator on monday! [p]jus a couple snacks
-
Rick's Tropical Delight,
You can eat all the gator you want! I think I'll cook duck(can't recall a team with that name other than hockey.) That ND food went down too fast to be filling. It looks like we are going to have to learn how to eat a "tide" now. Don't got a clue how to cook a tide, other than that's usually when we plan fishing trips.[p]Good night my friend. 0400 comes early!!
-
Rick's Tropical Delight,[p]I'm thinking Gator smoked with the wood from a Buckeye tree, rubbed heavily with Dizzy Dust's Swamp Venom...[p]Hey, you ever thought of doin' your own RTD Roadshow?[p]Rock on,[p]Biggie G
