Gasket Help

I need some advice on gasket replacement for a Large and XL egg. I need to replace both gaskets (the large is just old and burning thru finally and the XL is new but the top was not sitting flush on the back by the hinges on the first fire and it got out of control and burned) I am looking for advice on which gasket to replace with. Should I get a factory replacement from BGE, a Rutland gasket(will the 7' Rutland be long enough for the XL), or go with something like this cotronics ceramic tape...http://www.cotronics.com/vo/cotr/fc_tapes.htm

i replaced all my gaskets with the Cotronic "thermeez 397" woven tape and used permatex ultra copper (from NAPA automotive store) and very pleased with it

Did you use the new gasket on top and bottom like the stock BGE one or just on the bottom like you would with the Rutland?

both top & bottom and i needed more cushioning, so i glued another layer on top of the bottom gasket.
ie 1 - on top
2- on bottom

Thanks for the help. Why did you choose to use the adhesive from NAPA instead of one of the ones available from Cotronic?

the cotronics is like concrete & very difficult to apply, while the permatex adheres better and will not be in close contact with the flames (higher temps)
also
if you need to replace a gasket that got too gunky (several years down the road) it would be easier to remove
