The Picante had a nice chile and fennel kick, perfect with the asparagus. So lucky to stumble upon this line at Hy Vee.
I just hope it stays. Midwesteners are not the best in food appreciation, and will balk at the pricetag, without even trying it first.
My buddy, who grew up here, lives in Huntsville AL, says the pork and beef quality there sucks in comparison. He to, mentioned missing Fareway when visiting over the holidays. Awesome stores, nice folks.BrandonQuad Cities

Happy birthday man. That is some incredible looking grub. I would let you cook for me for your birthday any time.
What is that plate, and where can I get one?Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -

The plates are from Ironwood Gourmet.
There are more options for wood plates on amazon now. I saw 12" square plates with no juice groove. The acacia plates are awesome for steaks, chops, etc. Keeps the steak knives from getting trashed. I really would like some nice wooden bowls. Love serving things in wood...has kind of a rustic vibe.BrandonQuad Cities

@Focker I am been eyeing and reading up on KBQ smokers. Other than the obvious good looking grub, is there anything else you have to say about them? Good or bad? ThanksXL, Large, 2 Small's and Mini BGE Arlington Texas

It is a completely different beast than the egg, and the results are different as well.
It takes work. Finding wood, breaking it down into brick size pieces. I add wood about every 30-45 min. As soon as one piece breaks down, you add another. Much different than fiddling with the vents briefly on the egg. Not that there is anything wrong with that. But if you're liberal, and an egger, that is a whining recipe for disaster.
It is an open fire, so you'll need a safe surface, away from your home.
I wouldn't run it in a place you're not comfortable with a campfire size. Embers move around. I built a pad with patio pavers for a hundred bucks or so over the weekend.
It also runs on a small amount of electricity.
Take these into consideration, wood, fire, electricity, and you will have zero problems.
This thing puts out a product so different than any other cooker I have, and it's truly a joy to run. hth
