Hey has anyone ever used honey hog on turkey? I was planning on spatchcock at around 400 degrees at gasket level. Probably gonna do a practice cook this Sunday since I got picked to fix all the protein this year, any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!

I've done it on chicken and it's excellent. I would give it a try.Clarendon Hills, IL

Ya I think I'm gonna go that route, as long as I hit my temps and don't overcook/undercook it will probably turn out great reguardless

Worthy bro. Put citrus, onion, garlic and herbs in the cavity along with S & P. Good luck!Sandy Springs & Dawsonville Ga

You'll be fine with Honey Hog on it. I always add some Honey Hog Hot to whatever I put the regular Honey Hog on.

I'd do it. Used Plowboys last year on the kettle spit spun turkey, was a huge hit.BrandonQuad Cities

I want to add a very important piece of info though. If you don't prep and cook the turkey right and get the skin crispy it will be a moot point. All the skin will be rubbery and pull off with the first cut. I had this problem with the first few turkeys I cooked.
Plenty of threads on here with advice on how to attain crispy skin on your bird.
