Finally, after 20 weeks I got my fist egg!!!

Wait, not that kind of egg.

My birds were born 20 weeks ago today.  I have been waiting anxiously for the last 2 weeks for one to show up as they were showing signs they are getting ready to lay.  Finally today was the day!! 


Perhaps I bought my last dozen from the store on Monday? I hope so!  Soon I should be getting 8-10 a day.

Gonna have me an omelette tomorrow morning!

    I thought I got 12, but one of them was actually a "He" so he is happily living at my landscapers little farm. So I ended up with 11.  Some of you might remember this picture:

    I know it was the one right in the middle facing the opposite direction than all the others that gave me the egg.  For that, I made sure she got the most watermelon tonight she deserves it.

    Maybe he has an XXL egg and he had filled it to the top with his first bag of charcoal and only did low n slows to last 7 months  =)

    So true.  I have been saving them since I picked up the chicks, so I have about 20-25 of them. Those will be for close friends and family. The rule I have stated at work is that of they want eggs, they can have them, but you have to give me a carton, and no more than 6 eggs at a time; after all, there are only 11 birds.  It is funny because if you go in to offices down the hall, everyone has at least 1 egg carton. 

    The omelette did not disappoint. Red onion, scallions, and bacon bits:
