I'm flying in Friday afternoon. They've moved the venue this year so I am anxious to see how it turns out. Looks like an upgrade!

Wow. An Old Hide House joke. Only about 5 people on the whole internet are gonna get that one.Mt Elgin Ontario - just a Large.

No, went last year and didn't think the cheaper entry fee was worth it. I got to sample maybe 30-40% of the what the cooks were dishing out due to size of crowd. I did very much enjoy talking to and meeting some of the cooks though. $50 way to high.

I went to last years wasn't to impressed with the venue .This year we are going to NiagraTrenton ON 1 mbge for now

@Rzeancak @AD18 I guess I need a refresher on the cost. Looking at my PayPal invoice from last year I paid $120 for two. This year I paid $113 for two. Can't see a jack in price there. This years venue will be exceptionally better as it is not a parking lot. Although I will seriously miss the view of the beach bums heading to the Cabana Beach at the Docks

I stand corrected:) Checked PayPal as you suggested and I paid $40 last year, so not a huge increase, thought it was $35. Hopefully the venue is better, although it will be hard to beat the added views to the south as you stated;) Let us know how it goes, will maybe go next year.

My first Eggfest... I won't have to eat this week, so the $50 will actually save me money...
I have a horrible memory for names... My husband and I sat and talked BGE with a couple from Woodbridge...? And I had an amazing chicken wrap from someone else here. Two thumbs up for that one. It was delicious!
Just curious...and maybe I should start a new post for this question...why do people register to be cooks? What's in it for them? I expected there to be some sort of judging process... Best chicken, pulled pork, veggies, etc. There were so many awesome cooks, but I have no idea who they were. I gather some were caterers and some just backyard enthusiasts. Seems like soooo much work. My tummy appreciated it. I just figured cooking teams would earn bragging rights of some sort.
That being said - it was a great day out and my dog hasn't stopped sniffing me since I've been home!
And it IS worth the drive to Acton for my BBQ!Barbecue may not be the road to world peace, but it's a start. ~Anthony Bourdain -

Great day at Dickson's Toronto Eggfest. New location was a hit today. Covered but open sides, keeping us out of the sun. Good to see @Canugghead cooking this year. Met @ActonSue and had great conversation with her and her husband. Turns out our fathers may have been shipmates in the Cdn. Navy on the HMCS Bonnaventure (The Bonnie) and HMCS Magnificent (The Maggie). More cooks this year and tons of great food. Sorry no pics from me as one hand held a beer and the other was stuffing my face. Those who
skipped missed a good one. Missed @Little Steven and @TexanOfTheNorth as well as Mr. Verk.
great day! Thanks to the staff at Dickson's BBQ for a job well done. Anybody have pics? I'm sure this happened today!

WOW, that looks way better than last year's event. Congrats to organizers and cooks for what appears to be a dandy day. Maybe have to head down next year and have a look again. Very nice.

We made @20stone and @caliking inspired Indian street food Kathi Rolls (tandoori chicken wrap), it was good but too labour-intensive, including hours of slaving the day before. But it was so worth it when someone commented it was one of the top 3 things he ate Fortunately, the other two 'cheater' dishes didn't take much work - brownies and grilled pineapples!
Got pictures of pineapples only... simple coating of rum, brown sugar and cinnamon, very well received by the meat-coma inflicted crowd
Glad meeting @Sammi , hope you enjoyed your first fest!
Special egg setup for our dearly departed friend Shane Wilson...
Few other random pictures...

@20stonespice has been playing with the chicken recipe for that, and it is also a lot of work, but AWESOME by itself, too (and way less work than making the rolls).
It looks like you guys had a great event with a lot of fun cooks (including on site made sausage). Maybe we'll have an away game up there next year.

@20stone at previous fests we always served tandoori chicken on its own ... decided to try the rolls for the first time. Would be great to have you guys here, btw we also have Niagara Eggfest around mid August.
Speaking of on site sausage making, it's interesting to see three pairs of hands working on it...
I have the same unit, by bolting it to a cutting board and clamping to the table, it becomes a one man job, sorry can't help it
