BGE MiniMax vs KJ Jr?

Costco is having a KJ Roadshow and has the Jr for $399. Comes with their stone and multi level cooking grid. Seems like a nice compliment to my large. I know several of you have KJ Jr experiences. Is the MM worth the extra cash and fewer (no) accessories? Not stirring the pot, just looking for insight from those in the know.

Don't have a MM, but I love my KJ Jr. I got it at the roadshow. Worth every penny, and more.Large BGE & mini stepchild & a KJ Jr.The damp PNW

I have BGE large and med, KJ Jr. I love all three. I broke the base on KJ Saturday call Ace, he call KJ, they asked zero questions and are sending a free replacement as we speak. I know BGE has a great warranty as well. But I see no difference in these two products.Lenoir, N.C.

The KJ feels a little less dense, but at the road show price, accessories, and security of kj warranty and Costco guarantee, it's a no Brainer over the mm

Love my MM, but KJ jr. From roadshow. They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that. That doesn’t help them. That's against their interests. - George Carlin

Is there any way to get a KJ Jr at that price if you don't have a Costco anywhere near you?

Would also help if other members could tell from your post where you are located when you ask about pricing and help in your area.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -

I'm all Green because the red doesn't match the décor of the deck and house! That being said a ceramic Kamado is a ceramic Kamado. Stop over thinking this your not buying a precious diamond worth $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ it's just a cooking device. I don't need another Kamado of any kind but I can't pass up a great deal so when I find one I cash in and will resell if I can make a buck.

I just don't get it...someone can ask a legitimate question on this forum and some will answer with an arrogant answer. I thought this forum was a place where people could ask and others would share their knowledge and spread the love. I guess thats not the case for some people.

Ive read a lot about the differences between the two but it seems that the Jr is a lot taller and sits a lot higher in the stand so maybe works best if sitting on the ground? The MM is squatter and sits low in the stand. So, for those who have one of those cool tables with the cutout for their LBGE, would the Jr sit too high if placed on one of these tables? Would the MM work better at this height? Because that's where mine would sit. The Jr is a little lighter so would be better to take places but not enough offset if it would be cumbersome at home.LBGE, Minimax

@reload .. hey brother, I've been in here quite a while now, I remember asking a question and getting the same sort of response and then asking the same question as you. It's all good, ask away .. ask anything, these guys are actually really cool - except on Friday nights, especially the start of 'a three day weekend Friday night' .. 'cause that's when they start hitting the bottle a bit too hard. lolI've slow smoked and eaten so much pork, I'm legally recognized as being part swine - Chatsworth Ca.
