On the Egg for 45 minutes. Then I'll brush on some bbq sauce and add some panko bread crumbs. I got this idea from a YouTube vid my sister showed me ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4eqJhq_Z2Y ) I thought it looked awesome, we will see. I happened to have almost all the ingredients needed and a couple extra that I decided to throw in since they needed to be used. Will post pics of finale.

Wow, I'll be interested to see final product. Looks like a decent idea.I raise my kids, cook and golf. When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season.

The half-cooked rubbery bacon when he pulls out the slice is the dealbreaker.
Using bacon for the sake of using bacon. That Fockstik needs to cook that sh!t fully in order to say he made something worthy of the ingredient.BrandonQuad Cities

Wow that looks sinful. I think the bacon on the bottom might not be as crispy as the top if cooking indirect. Just a thought but you may consider switching to direct or just set the skillet on the stove for a little while.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

I think my left arm just went numb.
Seriously, I am sure that dish will absolutely rock and I am far from a shining image of health, but man. -

I have a few friends coming over so we can all sample a small slice. This isn't something you would want to eat a large serving of for sure.In Manchester, TNVol For Life!

Maybe lay the bacon out and drape it over the pan and precook it for a half hour or so next time. Even then with it overlapping on the bottom you will end up with some parts that are not so appealing. Interested in seeing your results.

I've been asked to make this for a party this summer and had concerns of rubbery bacon. Can't wait to see your results and thoughts.They/Them

Placed on the burner for a few. The bottom is nice and crisp. Now it's in the warmer until company arrives. Can't wait to try this experiment.

You might want to add a bit of lard to the pan, clearly there is not enough pig fat there.
