Heading to Birmingham, AL for some golf to prep the teenage son for high school golf season. Any recommendations on BBQ while there? Thanks in advance!

My wife and I went to Saw's BBQ. We enjoyed the place! Look it up.Kennesaw Ga. XL Egg. Cheers, Kevin

Somebody's going to say Dreamland. It's an ok experience, because they're famous. Food's decent, but they're Bama fans. And that's a bad thing. @SGHJefferson, GA

Another vote for Saws

Saws for sure great food

Saw's it's the best Bham has to offer.
I would recommend going to the original Homewood location.

All Dreamland has going for it is the sauce. The ribs are sub-par.
Jim and Nicks is a BBQ pretender, excellent marketing.
Demetri's is the road kill of Bham BBQ.
Golden Rule in Irondale is a honest dependable old school place. Nothing fancy.
Stick to Saw's.......

Agree. Saws is probably the best in Birmingham.War Damn Eagle!

Saws or Golden Rule. I'm in B'ham a lot and happen to end up at Golden Rule most of the time, it's dependable and good, like said earlier. Skip Dreamland...
Fish, Hunt, Cook....anything else?

If you're west in Jefferson Co., give Bob Sykes in Bessemer a try. It's one of our favorites. Haven't been to Saws but based on recommendations here, it'll be on our list next time we're there visiting wife's famiy.

agree with most everyone here. Saw's is the best way to go. Hit the one in Avondale beside Avondale brewery though! Also post office pies over there. Winning lots of awards for pizza in that joint.Memphis TN - Large Green Egg

I'm guessing you will be in the Homewood/Hoover area playing the two courses there. Saw's is great, and easy to get to from there. Full Moon, and Golden Rule are also good. Golden Rule makes a great burger.
Enjoy your stay, Bham is a great little town. -
I like the Saw's (Juke Joint) in Crestline. Also, another vote for the Golden Rule in Irondale. I actually had lunch there yesterday. IMO Dreamland is a joke.
