Well, I don't have a spider, but I think I found a set up that works just as well. Pulled the fire ring out and put the grate directly on the fire box after the lump was lit. Then I put the ring that came with my wok on the grate and set the wok in that. Cooked some fried rice and a ginger scallion chicken. Results were pretty fantastic for the first time. Definitely way more heat than the stovetop, the challenge is not getting it too hot. I think by closing the bottom door all the way it helps a lot. No in progress pics because everything happened so fast. Maybe next one I'll put the wife on camera duty.

"Bourbon slushies. Sure you can cook on the BGE without them, but why would you?"

@fence0407 I used a mixture of equal parts light soy and dark soy with a little sugar and white pepper. Full recipe here: http://thewoksoflife.com/2015/10/classic-chicken-fried-rice/
