If you're talking Atlantic City, good luck. Was there last week.  Tried to get sushi at two places IN the casinos and they were closed. Everything in the casinos is pricy, wound up getting decent sushi, not great, on the boardwalk behind Ceasars on the third floor of the Playground. I've heard the steakhouse in Borgota is good.

PSA: check to make sure whatever you choose is actually open BEFORE you get an uber/taxi.

Here are the suggestion I got last week when I found out I had to go. I was with a couple other folks, so didn't really follow.

When we go, we go to gamble because the rest of AC is a dump. So, my recommendations are in casinos.

Old Homestead in Borgata is one of the better casino steakhouses in the US. They haven't graduated to the high end Kobe territory yet, but they are still top notch. Appetizer to get: heavy cut bacon with Vermont maple syrup. Appetizer to avoid: the Kobe meatball, their only Kobe offering. Bland.

RiRa Irish Pub in The Quarter at Tropicana. Good bar food. Honestly I've never had anything there that I didn't like.

Borgata's breakfast buffet is decent. Mrs Mosca likes it more than I do, but I still like it. She loves it.

Wolfgang Puck in Borgata is pretty good. Sometimes they have the beef short ribs special, which is outstanding.

I love Forneletto inside Borgata, Mrs Mosca couldn't find anything on the menu she liked. From what I've heard it is getting replaced, but I forget what is going in there.

To a lesser extent we've enjoyed Cuba Libre in The Quarter and Dos Caminos in Harrah's. Both are good, but sometimes the food has an assembly line character to it. Carmine's in The Quarter is the same as Carmine's in NYC. Family style: a lasagna order will serve four.

    Outside of casinos:

The White House has a national reputation for their hoagies. We've never been, so that is a second hand recommendation.

Chef Vola's also has a national reputation, both as outstanding and as "have to know someone to get in". Be forewarned, some people think that the food doesn't live up to all the trouble it took to eat it. We've never been, so...

Angelo's is the Italian restaurant that you see coming in on the AC Expressway. Standard Little Italy stuff. Pretty good, we've been there twice. We never left unhappy, but we don't remember it well, either.

Ruth's Chris outside of Caesar's combines all the worst of Ruth's Chrises everywhere: unwarranted snottiness with overpriced top choice masquerading as prime. Avoid, even if you like Ruth's Chris.

If you don't mind a little drive and want something a little more low key you could go to Margate.  Steve and Cookies on the Bay is excellent.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

We were going to go Sun/Mon/Tues, but MJ's chemo starts Monday. So, we're going to Mohegan Pocono (local) instead. Where were you guys going to stay? You can probably tell from my recommendations, after 20 years of AC travel we've landed at Borgata.

The Trop offered to comp our room for the weekend, but snow storm will likely cause us to cancel.
