He misses my cooking...

My son got married this summer and moved about 35 miles away to a small town. His wife is a good cook and baker. He got lucky there. However, I believe he still misses my cooking and Egg skills. Case in point: they recently came for a visit and brought along an 8 pound pork butt and asked if I'd smoke it for them sometime.
Well, today is the day.
I just put it on with a slathering of mustard and my homemade rub over a drip pan with a little water and Apple cider. Hickory for smoke.

Just get a chamber sealer and he will clean out your freezer whenever he visits....just like mine do.

.... or time for them to buy their own egg Right after I bought mine (5yrs ago now), my son also bought the XL as well. He cooks just as well as I do. And now that he just got married, they can enjoy all of the smoked meats and grilled goodness they want. (Try tequila/sugar/cinnamon soaked grilled pineapple !!!!! - non-alcoholic version use a simple syrup/cinnamon) DANG GOOD!!!

Tell him you dropped it on the ground

Looks great, I'm impressed that they brought the butt for you to cook.
I would gladly cook anything my son wants or he can raid my freezer anytime because either way it would mean would he was home.Wear maroon, live maroon, bleed maroon.

@navymom - it helped that they found the butt for $0.99/pound. So this 8 buck's worth of pulled pork will keep their food budget in check this week. I checked my local Dillon's store (same chain) hoping to find the same deal...no luck.Large (sometimes wish it were an XL) in KS
