Metal in bag of Rockwood

I have had the egg for over four years now but just ran into my largest piece of metal in a bag of lump. Rockwood has been my go to lump lately. I have had small rocks in different brands of lump and an occasional piece of metal but nothing this large before. @stlcharcoal - are you surprised that I would find such a large piece of metal?

With all the posts on how they make lump lately, looks like you captured a piece of the banding they use to hold the bundles together with. I wouldn't be concerned.

What am I drinking now? Woodford....neat -
I hadn't seen that picture yet. That would explain it. I am not necessarily concerned, just curious as to the source.

It's charcoal, as long as I don't find compressed paper filled chunks in the bag I'm good.I raise my kids, cook and golf. When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season.

I would suggest removing the metal and carrying on.______________________________________________I love lamp..

Rocks in the bags done bother me much. Likely grew into the tree over time.

Add it to the rock pile from other lumps..... I'll be able to do some landscaping with the rocks I've gotten from other lumps.
Never had a rock or anything in any bag of Rockwood that I've gotten so far!LBGE #19 from North GA Eggfest, 2014
