    i don't think that other post is dividing the forum.  there have been far worse from what i've seen.

    seriously, I think for the most part a good discussion. I actually enjoy those threads from time to time. Just curious what the newbies think.

    I'm glad those conversations pop up from time to time.  If I was sitting around with my friends, more than likely it would be a pretty narrow, like-minded conversation.  We would all quickly conclude that we're right and just in our opinions and order another pitcher and maybe make fun of the next table.

    The only place other than this where I even come close to such a great sample of backgrounds, religions, opinions is at work.  These are not work topics.

    And I don't really see it as arguing.  Spirited debate, educated and informed group.

    I personally don't care for them either. The only reason i finally jumped in was because BGE doesn't care what happens on this site, and there are some beavy handed personalities preaching their brand of "how things should be" every damn day here

    for the record, this place was started because the previous forum became 'interesting' at times as well, and BGE wanted corporate control of the asset. Then they built the place, grabbed the data, turned on the power, and walked away. 

    It's basically exactly like the thing they tried to remedy. 

    so. Why fight it? (That's rhetorical)

    I can't agree that "it's all good" when people feel they have the right to bash the faith of others on a food forum.  Not looking to take this thread off-track, but I am not going to sit by and agree that "it's all good."  It isn't.

    BGE started this forum because the other one (which it benefited from, but didn't start or pay for) was getting a little too rough around the edges for a site representing a growing corporate brand.

    so they started this one.  nice and cleanall koombayah and every play nice now.

    and then they left it alone, virtually unmoderated unless someone reports something. and we are right where the other one ended up.

    Great video Ron  =). I vote to let's keep this forum family friendly.  I really enjoy when some of you talk about cooking with the kids, so I know kids do read this forum.  We don't need the PC Nazi police, just some maturity from the members would work.  I for one really enjoy this forum most of the time

    Amen! There were those that had a pre-conceived notion that this forum would be heavily moderated and would tow the corporate line. Some were so venomous as to never join this forum or, at least, threatened complete boycott.

    I don't think you're picking up what I am putting down, sir.  You said you only jumped into that thread because BGE doesn't care about this site.  

    I don't see folks navigating on this forum and say hey, I'll dive into this thread because BGE doesn't care.  Weird, but whatever dude...

    The way I figure, it doesn't matter which side you're on, we're on a BGE cooking forum with people from diverse geographic locations. And by definition, that means we'll meet with people from various beliefs, cultures and backgrounds. Which is actually what makes the forum great!!

    So, we just need to continue to keep it civil and respectful no matter what we or others believe or feel.
