What do you all recommend for TONGS for the XL BGE? I have a pair of 15", but they don't seem large enough, especially when reaching deep down and toward the back... Links to product are appreciated.

I'm a happy camper with my pig tail flippers! I use my 12" the most, but my 19" is heavy duty, lets me reach in harms way and can flip a brisket with ease and authority! With that curled hook there is no slippage like there can be with tongs.Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

I buy the $3.99 set of tongs from Publix. I've got 5-6 pairs. They have the best grip I've seen. When they break, I toss them and grab a new pair.

BTW if you are left handed these will not work well, but the company makes and sells left handed ones. You may think it's silly, but what is really funny is watching a left handed person such as my wife try to use my right handed flippers!

I just use simple short tongs. Maybe 7-8" long. If you use good grippers, you won't be long messing around flipping. Usually I don't cook at high temps nor do I have an XL, so I can't give info what's best for your situation. Most days I have a breeze, so standing upwind minimizes the heat. You can always get a glove to withstand the heat for a short time.Steven
