i have a small hole on top of the vent, as you can see on the pic. From what I can tell it does not leak, but it might be affecting the temperature. I have only had my egg for a month so I would not know.is the small hole on top of the vent fine?

Yeah I think its a non issue.. if the hole caused a leak or introduction of air for another area then it would disturb the flow but this will ONLY cause issues trying to smother the fire if it even causes that.. my .02Beaufort, SC
