@henapple, not trying to take away from your much appreciated gratitude, but Memorial Day is a day to reflect back and remember those that died for the United States.

Hopefully many will post about individuals near and dear to their heart that gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Please be safe during your remembrance festivities and live another day to carry on the legacies of those close to you.

Its not about veterans or active duty or any of that. Its about those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

I am active duty and it drives me nuts that people cant figure this out.

Understood Miles but with the political division in our country I like to take any opportunity to thank all who served OR serve. It does not diminish our gratitude to those who paid the ultimate price in my opinion

Holy ****...sorry I offended. I'm thankful for those that served. My grandfather served in WW2 and while he did come home I appreciated the fact that he and countless others were willing to take that chance.

Nah, leave it @henapple. Your post is good, how can it be bad to thank anyone and everyone who has served. Besides, today is only Saturday. Anyone with their panties in a wad about Veterans Day vs Memorial Day should really be waiting until Monday to start correcting anyone that over-thanked in their eyes.

I really don't give a damn if they are dead, alive, have served or are now serving if not for those men/women we would not be enjoying life and freedom as we know it! Thanks Henapple for bringing this to light, and Thanks to all service connected.
