That being said- $800 for the setup you describe for a large egg is a great deal, especially considering it sounds like a good dealer. I think the egg is a no brainer in this case.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -
The road show KJs @ Costco have full KJ lifetime warranty plus divide & conquer which is a cool feature

With the $$$ you have saved on option 1. Get a decking company out to start drawing up plans to solve your wind problem... Just a thoughtGreensboro North Carolina

KJ seems like a really strong option with a lifetime warranty AND Costco's return policy. If I didn't have this demo Egg offered to me I honestly would probably go KJ and save $$$. Not sure why the Egg is so much more? Has to be a reason I would think, but since the cost is the same it is irrelevant in my case.
The only thing with me is I don't have a Costco within an hour of my house. So I would be purchasing a membership of $55 just for the KJ. Then I assume to be able to return it you also need to be an active member. I doubt I would make the trip enough to justify the yearly cost. I do wish we would build one in my city though, I'd support them instantly.
The more I talk it out the BGE just makes the most sense for me. That takes nothing away from the other brands out there, I bet I could even crush it on the Akorn before it falls apart lol. -

He he does offer seasonings from dizzy pig, meat church, and caribeque. I have heard good things about dizzy pig, not sure on the other two. I believe he does cooking classes (might be what this egg was used for not sure) but not a radio show that I know of.
Delivery is about $50 because of the distance. I wish that was free because that's my biggest fear is moving the thing. -

aukerns08 said:Just FYI if you do go with the Kamado Joe from Costco it will have the full Joe Lifetime Warranty, per an employee of Kamado Joe. They have a forum as well that employees get on, and there's a Q&A post specifically about Costco Roadshow and warranty came up and the answer was full warranty. How good that warranty is I have no idea, I don't have any experience with Kamado Joe.Large BGE & mini stepchild & a KJ Jr.The damp PNW

One more thing to consider is your user name will look odd if you go with the KJ. inkamadojoeescape just doesn't have the same ring to it.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

I bought an extra large, got the daisy wheel ceramic green cap, egg converter, a tool to remove the cooking grid, a box of lump starters, a bag of lump and a green bottle opener and a cypress table and the deal that the egg sits in and assembled and delivered for 1803.00.I purchased it from a small dealer.I don't have the dealers phone # handy but I will send if you want.
-
I would go with the KJ as it has everything you need. I don't like the idea of buying a used grill, just kind of gross but that's just me.Large BGE - Jupiter, FL
