I know of a brand new in box Xl that was imported into Aus, but they want three thousand bucks for it, although it does comes with one bag of Big Green egg Lump!
Not sure that that seals the deal , but it would be nice to try it.

With that vent configuration, she's holding 300 degrees dome temp and 350 degrees grate temp. So it looks like grate temp is 50 degrees higher than the dome thermometer temp.XL Big Green Egg

@Downr@nge Your "grate" thermo is right above the plate setter opening (hot spot). If you measure the temp above the plate setter, it should be lower.____________________Entrepreneurs are simply those who understand that there is little difference between obstacle and opportunity and are able to turn both to their advantage. •Niccolo Machiavelli

yes if you rotate your platesetter so one of the legs is directly under your dome thermo it will be more accurate. welcome and look forward to your postsLBGE& SBGE———————————————•———————– Pennsylvania / poconos

@paqman, dome is now reading 325 while grate is reading close to 275-280. At this point, I'm closely watching temps and closing vents to make sure temp doesn't get away from me.XL Big Green Egg

As barbecue.web would say "it was guuuud!!!" First thing I noticed was the moisture level was not a gimmick sales pitch; that was the moistest chicken I've ever eaten off a grill!!! The skin was perfectly crisp! I've turned out awesome q on my weber and offset, but man, this egg just does a damn great job and holding steady temps and locking in moisture!
Can't wait till this Sunday to do some ribs!XL Big Green Egg -
Congrats and welcome. Torque your bands tight after a few cooks.
