Two Costco Butts Frozen Together

I won't go into the details but I managed to mistakenly freeze two pork butts from Costco while still together in original packaging. I don't really want to cook them both at the same time. Is there a way to partially thaw and then separate, throwing one back in the freezer after repackaging, or should I just resolve myself to having to cook them both at the same time?

Run luke warm water in them to mildly thaw outside and pull apart a bit, then use filet knife to separate?

I usually cook them both, pull and freeze the left overs in 1 pound bags for pizza, Mexican, nachos or chili. It freezes really well.

Thank you. @tz666 nice suggestion but I don't have one of those. @HoosierDaddy I might give this a try. @Budgeezer this may very well be what I end up doing.

As has been mentioned - I just run warm water over the "seam" and in a few minutes you can start muscling/prying them apart.

I always cook 2 or 3 at the time. Then package leftover in FoodSaver Bags about 1-2 lbs at the time...and put in the Freezer. When I want more...I just take a sealed bag straight from the freezer and put in a pot of bowling water..and about 15 minutes later..I'm ready to eat. No fuss, no mess!

Cook and freeze is the way to go in my opinion.
