Just got my 2014 muley back from the taxidermist. It's my first mount and I'm very happy with how he turned out.
It's been a bit of a debate the last few months as to where he would reside when I got him home.
My wife would prefer he was downstairs, but she did agree to let me have him upstairs if I really wanted. Also she's been wanting to pull the fake grass we have in the backyard and put sod down, I'm not crazy about that idea but we'll see, probably a fair trade.
While she was out visiting her folks this morning I did a little decorating. Hopefully she approves.
Going to cook up some backstrap in celebration.

Looks great to me. However if my wife came home to one of my bucks mounted, my head would be the next one on the wall....I raise my kids, cook and golf. When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season.

@NPHuskerFL you've got the right idea but our turf is the high end stuff. The neighbours say the previous owners spent a lot having it installed. It's quite nice, but our dogs aren't too crazy about it, hence the Mrs problem with it.

Backstraps just went on, have spuds and brocolini on as well. Also going to put on a big steelhead filet. A little bit of everything cooking tonight.

Nice rack and cook indeed. Is that a cat bed under the mount? If so I can see the cat using the bird to make it to the mount, and nothing good can come of that.

@HungryJoe it's a dog bed so we should be safe. Thanks for putting a funny image in my head though, that would be something to see.
