Bought 4 bags of medium size dough from Harris Teeter at $2.25 a bag. Bought some peppers, onions, mushrooms, sausage, pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese. Loaded up the xl full with Royal Oak, plate setter, grill grate, 2 level cooking grid and xl bge pizza stone. Placed the stone in the BGE while it was heating up. Got the BGE to 600 and made some pizzas. I was impressed with the BGE and how well it makes pizzas. Here is a photo of the sausage and mushroom I made for myself.

Looks great but if you get in a pinch for time and really want to be impressed, buy a frozen pizza and toss on your favorite toppings and cook on your BGE. I promise you won't regret it!

I would be very careful putting a frozen pizza on a 600 degree pizza stone. It has been known to crack the stone putting something that cold on something that hot. YMMV - but you have been warned... I believe there were other threads that point out this fact.Tuffvol243 said:Looks great but if you get in a pinch for time and really want to be impressed, buy a frozen pizza and toss on your favorite toppings and cook on your BGE. Why bother with frozen when you're making pies like that? Nice work.

Most frozen pizzas are designed to be cooked at lower temps directly on an oven rack. You could use the BGE grate without the pizza stone to avoid the potential cracking.Southeast Florida - LBGE
In cooking, often we implement steps for which we have no explanations other than ‘that’s what everybody else does’ or ‘that’s what I have been told.’ Dare to think for yourself. -
Thanks for all the compliments. Looking to try new things with pizza making on the BGE.
