Assembling large Egg

I just upgraded from a medium to a large egg. I want to make sure I assemble it perfectly. I have seen some videos online but I am still not sure of a couple things.
Should the two bands be close to touching each other or should the bottom one be pushed down and the top one pushed up.
I can't figure out what I am supposed to do with the four red spacers.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Not sure about a large since I have an XL. I referred to the online manual at BGE and it had all the necessary information.

I followed a video along as they put one together. I just hit pause a lot.

Mine had a sheet do instructions. The bands ended up closely spaced. You put the red spacers around, equally spaced. Then adjust the bands to contact the red tabs. Then tighten the bands in place.

the 4 spacers are set at about 1,5,7 and 11 o'clock in between the top and bottom. The fat part of the spacer determines the ring position

When I torqued the bands, my torque wrench head was hitting the nut head of a hinge fastener. With the deep socket it wouldn't get to the nut on the band, so I removed the offending nut, torqued the band, and then replaced and retorqued the hing mount nut.

Got it. I was unsure how the spacers worked but I now have the bands in place perfectly

Definitely use the spacers. The bands do not seat very far onto the depressed area. The spacing is critical to proper alignment of the lid. Should be very good written and illustrated directions in the box as well. You will love the large.

sorry for the delay in responding. I used the spaces properly and I do believe I did it right
