WINGS MARINATED IN COKE (30/20/10)
Made these couple weeks back and they turned out excellent. Doing them again this weekend. Will take pics to post.
Fill a gallon zip lock bag with frozen wings and marinate them in coke (coca cola) in the fridge all day.
Drain the coke then apply a light rub using Webers ‘Kickn Chichen’.
Plate setter (legs up). Grid will naturally be at the felt level.
Grill indirect at 375 for 30 minutes. Flip for 20 minutes. Then toss them in Sweet Baby Ray’s New Wing Sauce & Glaze “Kickin’ Bourbon” sauce then back on for 10 more minutes.
YUM!

You just never know bro. Wanted to be clear. My brother turned me on to the coke marinade. I was skeptical at first until I tried them. They were very juicy and are now in the BGE smoke rotation.

PIC HEAVY. Did the wings marinated in coke this weekend. They turned out excellent. I like these as much as the Georgia Red Wings. One thing my wife noticed was there's more crunch with the Red Wings whereas these are wet wings because of the sauce. Plus they take less time marinating. There's also a nice little bite but not at all overpowering -- everybody loves them. Excellent as leftovers too. Here are the pics.

Talked to an ol timer many years ago. So I guess he would have been my age now. lolHe was famous for his fajitas. He said the trick was to marinate the skirt steak in Coke for a few hours then freeze at least over night. His logic was the Coke, as it froze, would expand and tenderize the meat and break it down.Who knows?Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas
