Hi Everyone,
I'm going to be in Dallas for a few days next week and would like to hit a couple of bbq joints. I could use google foo to find some but I would prefer to hear from some locals or some that have visited in person. Thanks in advance.
Mike

Lots of BBQ places in the Big D. I have eaten at the original Sonny Bryans and really enjoyed it. There are a lot of out-of-the-way joints but since I haven't lived there is too many years, couldn't tell you where they were. Here is a list from the pitmasters in Dallas:

Agree 100%. Pecan Lodge always has a long wait though...IMO Lockhart is almost as good but there is never a long wait so that is my go to.CowtownEgger said:Lockhart BBQ or Pecan Lodge are both really solid
Also good is Big Al's (pork ribs are their specialty) and Mike Anderson's is also one of my regular visits (great sausage).

Hard 8 BBQ in Coppell is great. Not far from the airport either if you're not getting away from there very far.Just chillin' and lovin' the eggin' life! Facebook • My Graphic Design Website

Pecan Lodge is a must. The line moves pretty quick at their new location but it is worth the wait no matter what. Lockhart takes second place. Also would recommend Slow Bone for their brisket and sides and Mike Andersons sausage. That and the free ice cream are the best things there.

Thanks guys for the suggestion of Pecan Lodge. The beef ribs were like a piece of heaven on it's own stick!! I also had their homemade sausage and some collards which were both really good. I arrived there at 10:30 a.m. and the line was already long. I got my food at11:45, but it was well worth the wait.Mike
