Finally took the red pill and decided to do some butts. WOW! Easy, delicious, and mmm mmm good. I've had my egg for over 2 years and haven't done it til now! I think I just needed a good reason to try out my new gamesaver silver.
Rubbed with mustard and then some dizzy dust on top. Smoked with apple and pecan wood. 350ish.
Took a nap, woke up and all was well.
Looking good so far!
Pulled with my new bear claws. They worked really well for lifting and pulling. I would like one of those metal drill attachments, but I can't see myself using it much. Plus, I think you get a smaller pull by hand.

Great looking cook. Love doing butts. I always keep an eye out for when they go on sale and grab a couple an throw them in the freezer for when they call my name. Bonus factor is you can do so much with the left over meat other than sandwiches.Large and Small BGECentral, IL

Pork Butts are probably my favorite meat to cook when you factor in taste/effort/price. They are cheap, easy, and taste outstanding.Victoria, TX - 1 Large BGE and a 36" Blackstone

Great looking food man! This cut of meat is so forgiving and easy to do. Not as intimidating as it looks for sure.------------------------------

Looks like you nailed it. I vac sealing and freezing pulled pork. I reheat it right out of the freezer in 160-170 degree water in about 40 minutes I had leftover pork for dinner last night in fact. I am also watching carbs so had the pork with some vinegar sauce and homemade slaw.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

You gotta watch the sugar in the vinegar sauce and coleslaw dressing.I bought the Franklin's BBQ vinegar sauce to use one of the butts after shredding. Really nice flavor and not too bad on the sugar content.Louisianian by birth, Louisianian by death. Austinite for now...

Good looking pork. I'm in the opposite camp as I've gained 10# since getting the egg, but that may be alcohol and side dish related.

Liquor in general is low carb! You just have to stay away from the beer. :-)Louisianian by birth, Louisianian by death. Austinite for now...
