I just got a mini. I was thinking abouy getting a medium or small to compliment my large. I ended up getting a great deal on the mini and have been surprised how much you can actually do with it.LBGE And MINI Egg

I'm thinking the Medium wouldn't be all that much smaller than your Large. Not sure if $450 for a Medium is a good deal or not, but keep in mind that even though it is new in box, the warranty doesn't transfer to you.We have an XL/Small combo here and it works for us.They/Them

An unwritten thumb rule-if you can get a new non-warranted BGE for around 1/2 the area dealer price then it's a reasonable deal. And if you can get that with options so much the better. Otherwise, look for an eggfest and get one at the fest discount (comes with the warranty). I have a LBGE and picked up the SBGE off an eggfest deal (honored the deal across the line except the XXL) and really enjoy the versatility. I bought a mini to compliment my large. I use the mini more than the large now. The mini is just a great little cooker for sure.

This is my very first picture uploaded to PhotoBucket and some finer features have changed over the years. But what hasn't changed has been my satisfaction with going with a large and small combination. Though I now also have a medium and a mini this L & S combo rocks and between them get 80% of my biz! Why? Maybe it is the convenience of being together, but OTOH they also compliment each other in the the types of cooks I do. My advice is go with the small and you will never look back!Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

XL with a medium. Started with the XL but now I use the medium for most cooks. Great size for 3 - 4 person cooks. You might find that the medium becomes your go to cooker more than you expect.Cooking on an XL and Medium in Bethesda, MD.

Hmm thanks for all the input! Sounds like maybe I should be looking for a small instead. Wanting to build a table for two and and the mini might be a bit too small? Minimax would work...but I hear that's an urban myth lol.

for less than a tenth of the cost consider a table top Weber Smoky Joe (14.5 inch) or Weber Jumbo Joe (18 inch). Indestructible, light as a feather, easy to clean & they last forever:

I have and XL and a Medium at my home. I found the Medium on Craigslist and got it for $450. It was new in box and won in a contest. It is an awesome addition to my XL. I use it for a couple steaks, a few burgers, a single pork butt, or a single Spatchcock chicken. I have also on occasion fired it up along with the XL to cook something complementary to what is on the XL. (i.e one direct and one indirect or one hot and one moderate. It will make a nice addition. Go for it!XL BGE; Medium BGE; L BGE

I got a mini a few weeks ago and have fired it up almost everyday since I got it. It's perfect for just the wife and I, I can do 2 good size ribeyes on it at once or 2 chicken breasts and a foil packet of potatoes on it as a side. I also fire it up when doing larger cooks or slow and low's on my large for sides or apps. I didn't buy the plate setter at first for it because I didn't think it would be needed but I decided to get one after the fact and did some Moink's on it over the weekend, I got about 15-20 of them on there at one time while the pork butt was smoking on the large.Large and Mini BGE

I'd say pull the trigger.... I have seen some excellent cooks on them. You only live once so enjoy!

Large and small here. The small is portable for tailgating etc so I just keep it in the small nest and the large in the table.
