Neighbor Mark brought us this fresh caught tuna steak and tonight we gave it an Egg Test.
I have never cooked a tuna steak on the Egg so I asked for suggestions. All were good but we ended up spreading some Dizzy Pig Tsunami Spin and a lite sprinkle of kosher salt.
Cooked it on the Mini Egg in a cast iron pan. 400° dome and 540° griddle, 2½ minutes a side.
Judy wanted hers cooked well done so I sliced off a chunk for her.
Here are some photos:
Mine was a little too raw so back on the griddle for two minutes.
Much better...
Moscato wine because we had some earlier with cheese. Actually, it went well with the tuna.
Overall, a success. We both liked the flavor and texture. The Tsunami was good but I'm open to other suggestions.
We learned that we like it a little more done than the photos we've seen. We'll do again.
Thanks Neighbor Mark. You did good.

Nice! And I would have eaten it when it came off the first time. The second shot is what the rest of the family would have had.They/Them
