Tried apple pie apples. No big deal. Would probably be a party treat but I won't do them again. Hollow apple, fill with pie filling, add cinnamon and brown sugar. Top with crust, egg wash and bake.

Pie filling may be your downfall. Makes it taste 'grocery store' If you use the scooped out apple, maybe add additional from a fresh apple, add some nutmeg to the brown sugar and cinnamon, and cook it down a bit before filling the apples. Add a small pat of butter under the crust, sprinkle the crust with raw sugar after egg washing - totally different texture and taste - more like home made apple pie.

I did the grilled peach thing tonight. Made a sugar,cinnamon and vanilla butter sauce. Came out surprisingly wonderful. Gotta try this next!

Half and scoop. Fill with goat cheese or cream cheese. Wrap in bacon and season. Really good as a side.
