I got this bag on amazon. From an glance in it looks good.

I bought 3 of the 18 pound bags. A tip I will buy one per order from now on as 2 came in a bigger box together and the box was beat up but the one by itself was packaged much better in the smaller box. It didn't seem to affect the lump much but there was dust in the box with the 2 bags in it.

FWIW the big bag is in more of a plain brown wrapper, but the lump looks the same.

I don't know why Amazon says it's a 35 lb bag. The bag that I got from them is 40 lbs. I think it's some pretty good stuff!

So just lit the fire to do a couple of butts and some ribs. Inital impression are that this lump is awesome. It lit quick (using BGE paraffin, which I find works great). There was some popping, but I think that's because I inadverently lit a chunk of applewood at the same time.
It almost immediately went to a deep smolder. Closed the lid, and within 30 minutes, I had dome temp pinned just under 300 with clear smoke. I'm opening the vents just a tad and going to pick up the beer for tomorrow.

Nice dense lump, pastrami is going on. The electric starter is good for this stuff.Seattle, WA
