I use mine regularly and it takes about one minute per spot, I do three.

i use one. the first spot i light seems to take 2-3 minutes. after that the 2nd and 3rd spots light in under a minute.LBGE, Marietta, GA

Yes, bought one a few months ago, little pricey but well worth it.

Sabta brought me one. I love it. U can light a couple spots with just a little charcoal in your egg and then dump more on top. U have a whole egg worth of nuclear charcoal in 5-10, otherwise just light the top and rock and roll. Great tool!Pittsburgh, PA - 1 LBGE

Sorry, that's Santa. My thumbs are too big for my phone. . .Pittsburgh, PA - 1 LBGE

It's cool. I had one, then switched to a propane torch, then switched back when my torch broke. A word of advice is to hold the looftlighter in one spot longer than is recommended they always say once sparks start you start pulling it back but I find that if I keep it in the one spot until I get a raging inferno and then move to the next one.

Great thanks for the advice, I noticed it took longer than the suggested 1 minute so I wanted to make sure it was not something I was doing

Yea I think it's the first spot that takes forever, but I literally just had it take less than a minute on the first and almost instantly on the other two spots - it was so weird. Must be the raging winds that are are out there as I am trying to get it lit.

bought one with gift certificate from dealer for cooking at eggfest, died after few months although I pampered it... after getting a warranty replacement, I analysed why it broke and figured it was probably the power surge during the repeated on/off cycles that killed it, it snapped on an 'on'.I now press 'on' once only and hold it till all spots are lit and done with.... hopefully it'll last longer than the first one.canuckland
