I've bought one. It was I think six pounds and just the flat. I think it was $38.Slumming it in Aiken, SC.

I guess it depends on where you live, but in my area that is an amazing deal.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

As mentioned by @SmokeyPitt-it's all location. Can hardly find packers here and the flats are $5.29/#. So, grab a couple and enjoy.BTW-if not said prior, welcome aboard and enjoy the journey.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Thanks buddy! I've been on the journey for about 6 months now and enjoying every minute of it. I live in the Kansas City area and was curious what other paid around the country for equivalent. ironically Costco is one of the few places around here I can find Prime... most of it is Choice or at what I call boutique meat venues where when pressed they say its at least Choice or better.
From the sounds of it I have it pretty good

Bought a brisket recently - $4.75/lb for CAB. Snake River Farms was $9/lb at same butcher. After calling around, $5-$6 per lb seems the going rate in my area, for Angus or choice.

We get good prices in Austin TX, for prime less than $3 is really good. From what I've seen, that's low in US.+++++++++++++++++++++++++++Austin, Texas. I'm the guy holding a beer.

3.89/lb for choice is the best I have found.

I paid $2.89# yesterday for a choice packer. $3 for prime is an awesome price!Just a hack that makes some $hitty BBQ....

Picked up an 8 pound flat for 32 and change yesterday. I haven't found a local source for a whole brisket yet.Dead smack in the middle of NH

Sams Club in our area sells prime packers for $2.58 per pound and choice packers for $2.38 per pound. Great buys! The flats though are like $4.88 per pound so I always buy the packers!
-
I can't get prime here but I get choice black angus for $2.38 a pound from restaurant depot. I am gonna ask.costco if they can order the prime. They have flats for.$5.99 a pound but no packers here. If I don't feel like driving to restaurant depot there are 3 butchers within a couple miles that are all under $3 a pound and Wally world carries excel choice packers also here in GA.

So I bought a Black Angus U.S.D.A. Choice wet aged for 7.99/# for this weekend. Seems like NJ is not so low on the cost scale.
