Not exactly close but if you haven't tried Dekalb Farmers Market it may be worth the drive!Extra Large, Large, and Mini. Tucker, GA

YDFM is the United Nations of food. The meats, fish and produce are top notch. You will see stuff there you will not see anywhere else. And spices are DIRT cheap! Avoid weekends and anytime near the holidays, the joint is a ZOO. If you have shopping cart frustration this place will give you an aneurism, but it is worth it. Also credit cards are not accepted.Atl, Lg Egg, TV Guy

Have you been to Patak Meats in Austell?

I like Heywood's and Cajun meat company, both on Roswell road in the wing cafe shopping center

+1 for Heywood's Provisions. They also offer Snake River Farms, if you're looking to step up your game.

Patak meats is AWSOME. I only wish I did not live 750 miles away. But if you want my opinion patak meats is worth the drive. Not sure how close that is to you, but it is worth a visit.

Dekalb Farmers Market is also great for hard to find spices and cheeses too. They have stuff from all around the world.

I second the Cajun Meat Market. Heywoods sold me some tiny ribs last I was there, so I'm a little cool on it, but they sold me a couple of nice briskets previously, so I will go back

I go to dekalb farmers market but do not buy meat there. The meat is way over priced. Last I check pork shoulder was $3.99 a pound. Their sausages weren't bad when I tried them but patak is the best place in Georgia to get sausage for sure. Which reminds me I need to take a road trip.

I like the New York Butcher Shop (not sure if there is one in Cobb but there is one in Sandy Springs). Also, I haven't been here but someone on one of the BGE Facebook pages recommends this place, it's in Ball Ground so might be a little bit of a drive http://www.yelp.com/biz/frankfurt-doner-and-meats-ball-groundLBGE- Atlanta, LBGE and SBGE- Ellijay, GA
