Ok this one is for the guys with the new eggs that are not seasoned yet.
Cook you up some breakfast sausage patties at about 300 over direct heat for about 45 min.
They will smoke like a mother and each one will take on that egg taste, Do this about a dozen times and you will be on your way to that black nasty resin that you want to coat the inside of the egg. But be careful dont get that stuff on your fingers or clothes. Very hard to get off.
One of the better things cooked on the egg I think. I have not done it for maybe 12 years because when I cook breakfast I want breakfast!! and dont want to play around an hour with the egg to get them cooked.

You don't need to season an egg. Just get cooking

I'd say LS is correct... Even for a Canadian. Just start cooking. I'm not sure an egg gets seasoned. A clean burn would eliminate the seasoning. I'm sure village idiot will chime in and let us know.Green egg, dead animal and alcohol. The "Boro".. TN

Seasoned egg, is that another way of saying dirty egg?First time always good to run a small batch of lump through it with a dome temp of 400º max. Just let it burn out completely and then as LS says, get cooking.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

If you want the that glossy black finish; do a few butts and briskets...
Never mind the veggies below, the inside of my egg looks like a good wok

Do a few long smokes with Pecan wood....get rid of that new "shiney" look.
Never trust an egg owner with a "bright" "new" looking egg!!!!!
