Car Wash Mike, try mixing burger with Italian Sausage. When almost done add some good sauce and top with Mozz or Provolone cheese [p]Due to sausage content, rare is NOT advised. At least 150°-160° internal.

Car Wash Mike,
I just hung up the phone to Pizza Hut...Large... Sausage, Mushroom and Black Olive ...about an hour....$11.99, but delivered is $14.75 which, I'm told, does not necessarily include the tip. What the heck does that mean?[p]At any rate, I'm too pooped to cook, monitor an 8 yr. old and do tools at the same time tonight.[p]May the BigGreenGods forgive me.[p]Mike

LawnRanger, you have nothing to be ashamed of, i saw your previous post with Burger photos you made - man!!! these are great looking meals (the trouble is that i saw them at work during lunch time while eating a cheese sandwhich, i was drooling all over the cheese slices, please don't do this to me)
Yummi burgers

Mike,[p]Had the burgers a couple nights ago but I do have a brisket that is getting about due to pull. Going to put on 2 butts at 5 in the morning.
Don't think my grill has cooled down since this past weekend. [p]Killing the neighborhood with the aroma...[p]The Hulkster...

LawnRanger,
That means $5 more or they spit on your pizza next time.[p]Mike

Car Wash Mike,
Oh, Thanks! I'll sleep better tonight knowing that little secret! Cough!, Gag! Spew!

No,No,No, That little angel lives there. IMHO she is an angel.
Spoilled and still lives there.

Car Wash Mike,[p]You're making me hungry. Now I'm going to have to fire up the egg for some late night burgers. I fixed a pork tenderloin with Mary's Cherry Rub earlier, but there is always room for a burger. I'm supposed to have started my diet today now that I'm home, so I can just blame it on you. As they say, never trust a skinny cook.[p]Chris

Car Wash Mike,
it was a great thread. ..after my exchange with fishlessman, i stopped at the store, picked up some shrooms and ground veal and did the following:[p]made 1/2 pound patties of the veal ... seasoned with salt and pepper. ...put a cast iron skillet in the egg at around 450 degrees dome temp. ..put in a little EVOO and grilled the burgers in the pan till just browned on one side[p]then with the pan still on one side of the egg, i flipped the burger out of the pan to direct on the grill. . .while the burgers continued to grill i poured about 1 1/2 cups of red wine (didn't have any marsala, so i just used a good red), let it boil off the alcohol, deglazing the pan, then added in some sliced shrooms (also forgot to buy some prociutto, but oh well). . .while the burgers finished grilling, i let the liquid reduce and mushrooms cook. . . .finished it off by adding some pads of butter and some salt and pepper. . ..served up the burgers on a plate with the mushroom wine sauce off on top and some simple egg noodles on the side. ...[p]all in all, it was very good and the wife said "do it again". . .. [p]great thread yesterday. ...really provided some inspiration for something different and simple. ...

mad max beyond eggdome,
for years ive done stove top steaks that way, then the roast in the oven while the sauce gets made. not since the egg, but ill be getting a skillet for that soon. i was thinking last night about that while making some witchy red burgers that with the marsala shroons procuitto butter, maybe just a little heavey cream and make the burger in a sub roll to soak it all up.
fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
fishlessman,
that sounds awsome as well. ..my sauce was a little thin and probably could have used either a little flour (and i mean a little) thickener, or the cream would have been good too. .. .doing it in the egg of course imparted a little extra flavor. .. .[p]and i really liked the veal burgers for their flavor vs. regular ground beef. .. . .again, thanks for the inspiration. . .that was fun. ..

mad max beyond eggdome,
I really enjoyed the thread also. It was a fun exchange.[p]Mike
