Spaghetti Squash Recipe ?s
We finally tried spaghetti squash on the Egg last night for the first time, first time either have even actually had it to be honest. 350F raised direct for 40 minutes. Didn't think it was quite done, so it went in the oven while I grilled up some chicken. Seasoned it with salt and pepper and some olive oil before it wnet on the grill. Added some more salt and pepper, some butter and some fresh Parm when it came off. Wasn't bad, but wasn't knock you socks off, if you know what I mean? A little sweet, different texture than pasta. I could eat it, especially if we had a good recipe. So that's what I need, considering we have another half of it in the fridge. Mrs. G also sauteed some kale while I grilled the chicken. Don't tell her that I told you this, but she got distracted by one of her shows and burned it a bit, the garlic anyway.
Chicken three ways. Mine had John Henry Texas Chicken Tickler, Mrs. G had Ragin River and one with Italian Seasoning for dinner tonight.
Sorry, no plated pictures. So who's got a killer, healthy spaghetti squash recipe?

At the Cincinnati "Porkopolis EggFest" there was a very good spaghetti squash.
Eennie Meenie from the other site made it and it was delish. Absolutely wonderful lady to talk with as well. Had a great time.
I'll try to find the recipe, because I remember asking her for it afterwards.

I have not had this but I was looking through some recipes yesterday and came across this one, http://projects.eveningedge.com/recipes/village-taverns-spaghetti-squash-and-zucchini/.
It's from a pretty popular restaurant in the Atlanta area.

I made spaghetti squash for the first time last week. Tasty veggie, but I messed up. I topped the pulled squash with homemade marinara and meatballs just like I would top normal pasta. DO NOT DO THIS. The water in the squash released and ended up with a bowl of red water. Next time I plan on making a stuffed boat using a more solid meat/tomato filling . . .similar to stuffed peppers.Columbus, OH

I make it all the time. Best method is to throw some oil and seasoning in the cavity and grill it direct at around 400 for 15-20 minutes to char it up. Then put some foil beneath it and let it go until the outside becomes slightly soft. Usually takes about an hour.Southern California

Its about as tasty as a grilled veg will get - I don't mean that it is the best thing ever, but vegetables have limit to how good they can be before you start adding meat (or fats) to the mix.@Griffin - I used rub, pepepr, and EVOO to season mine. You may have to cook it a little more than you did. The sugars caramelized just a bit when I last did some and I really liked the flavor. The flesh should darken a little, and be very soft when probed.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

Spaghetti squash is a bland vegetable to begin with. I will and can take a lot of seasoning to get it where you want it. I find to add S&P to it I have to add a lot more that if I were to season lets say broccoli.

Buttah, brown sugar and cinnamon... Sure it sounds like the strippers at the Boobie Bungalow but it's good.Green egg, dead animal and alcohol. The "Boro".. TN

I sometimes put a little marinara in the squash a few minutes before I pull it off, just a coupla tablespoons and some parmesan or asiago or goat cheese. It gets a little more flavor when you shred it.
